Biography:
Wags, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the trajectory of a polymorphic artist whose creativity has unfolded from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present thanks to his father, a draftsman, Wags discovers at a very young age his first passion: music creation. This passion guides him in his youth, and his early talents lead him to take a bold decision: to invest the money intended to fund his higher studies in creating his first album.
Distributed by EMI, the album does not meet the expected success, but it marks the beginning of a rich and experimental artistic career.
Alongside his musical career, Wags enters the world of advertising as a designer/copywriter for the iconic magazine Playboy. For many years, he applies his creativity to the publication, creating and producing the magazine’s advertising campaigns.
The turning point in his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cameraperson, exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founds his own photo agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.
In 2017, Wags makes a radical choice to sell his agency in order to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who has become a major figure in world street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted art creation, Wags stands out with more than 2,500 works sold in galleries and online to date.
Seeking to explore new artistic universes, Wags is none other than Kobalt who signs under this pseudonym so as not to interfere with his usual work.
