Hector Thys (1864-1915) - Village landscape

Hector Thys, born in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode onOctober 26, 1864 and died in 1915, was a painter and draftsman of landscapes, still lifes, figures and seascapes. He was also a Belgian art glassmaker. In 1894, he joined the artistic circle Pour l'art .
This oil painting depicts a pastoral landscape with cows at a watering hole and a farmhouse and is dated 1888. The work is decorated in a richly decorated gilded frame, characteristic of the period of the late XIX century.
