Description from the seller

Watercolor on paper signed Marcello Scarano (1901-1962) titled “The Brutal.” The painting depicts a primitive battle between two wrestlers in a war context. The sharply defined black outlines separate and define the two figures, which are painted in a pliant, malleable style. The watercolor is signed at the bottom and is housed in a framed piece under glass with some abrasions. The overall dimensions are 61.5 x 50 cm.
