Description from the seller
The work tackles the theme of climate change, delivering a clear message: the Earth is not a game. "It's not a game" is a contemporary sculpture created by the artist couple Francioni Mastromarino. The sculpture depicts a soccer ball with the continents in relief, transforming it into a globe with small cracks concentrated in one point. A symbolic interpretation that fuses two images: the Earth, with the hexagons and pentagons characteristic of a soccer ball.
The authors denounce the flippant attitude towards climate agreements, precisely now on the occasion of the World Cup hosted in part by the United States, highlighting the risk of treating climate change and the safeguarding of our only planet with superficiality as if it were a game.
The materials used reflect a concrete commitment to the environment. Eco-sustainable mortars, inspired by bio-architecture, are mixed with rice hulls, a by-product of the rice mill that Francioni Mastromarino has long used in their works, and when mixed with the mortars they ensure the durability of the piece. This choice not only reduces environmental impact but also integrates the message of the work: respect for the planet must start from the smallest details.
A sculpture with a strong visual and ethical impact, perfect for those who wish for an artwork that makes one think about the future of our world.
The sculpture is the result of the synergy of two artists, Francioni and Mastromarino, a couple of artists and lovers who have been working together for about 20 years in their studio in Pietrasanta, Tuscany.
The chosen materials minimize the pollutant percentage, as does the use of cardboard cuttings as filler for the shipment. The sculpture is carefully packaged in a very sturdy box and shipped by express courier. All of our collectors are very satisfied with the sturdiness of our packaging.
