Description from the seller
The Like Trap (XXL Size)
Introducing an original hand painted composition by NO1R.
Painted entirely by hand on cotton canvas, this large scale mixed media artwork explores one of the defining paradoxes of contemporary life: the pursuit of connection through systems that often leave us feeling increasingly disconnected.
Titled "The Like Trap", the piece presents a solitary figure absorbed by the glow of a mobile device while a stream of hearts, likes and digital approval rises from the screen. What appears at first to be a moment of validation gradually reveals itself as something more ambiguous. The character stands motionless, isolated within a vast black space, suggesting a tension between attention and fulfilment, visibility and emptiness.
The stark contrast between the monochromatic figure and the surrounding void reinforces the psychological weight of the composition. Minimal in its visual language yet direct in its message, the work reflects on modern habits of consumption, self worth and the endless search for recognition in digital environments.
Created using acrylic paint and spray paint on cotton canvas, the artwork combines raw gestures, street art influences and contemporary iconography, resulting in a piece that is both visually striking and culturally relevant.
