At dawn the railway built by the Chinese cuts through the low-lying plains between Makeni and Lunsar. The photograph is part of a wide reportage dedicated to Sierra Leone and produced in 2015, the year when the West African country was still gripped by the Ebola nightmare.

The image is signed on the back and measures 30x40 cm. It is printed in a limited edition (25 copies) on Hahnemühle Baryta FB 350 g paper and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Alessandro Gandolfi is an Italian professional photographer and journalist, co-founder of the agency Parallelozero. Interested in telling the small and large changes of contemporary society, his reportage has appeared in outlets around the world and has been exhibited in various exhibitions and international photography festivals.
