Description from the seller
MiLo – “MIRA”
A work by Amsterdam-based artist MiLo (1976).
MiLo (1976, The Netherlands)
This contemporary abstract portrait balances between figuration and fragmentation. Constructed from strong black forms and soft off-white surfaces, the composition evokes elements of Cubism while maintaining a distinctly modern and minimalist atmosphere. The figure appears both assembled and interrupted at once, as though multiple perspectives are unfolding simultaneously within the same space.
Sharp intersecting lines create rhythm and tension throughout the canvas, while the simplified facial features give the work a calm yet enigmatic presence. Depending on the viewer’s focus, the painting shifts between portrait, silhouette and abstract geometry, inviting multiple interpretations.
The restrained palette of black and warm off-white enhances the graphic strength of the composition and allows the shapes themselves to dominate the visual experience. The work functions equally well as a statement piece in modern, minimalist or contemporary interiors.
Acrylic on canvas.
The painting will be carefully packaged and shipped rolled in a sturdy tube or box.
