AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This painting captures with timeless elegance one of the most iconic subjects in the history of art: the Virgin and Child. The work stands out for its intimate and contemplative atmosphere, where the bond between mother and child emerges with extraordinary sweetness and naturalness.

The figure of the Virgin, wrapped in a soft, deep blue drapery, gently tilts her head toward the child, conveying protection, tenderness, and a quiet melancholy. The gaze, delicate and penetrating, seems to go beyond the canvas, establishing a direct dialogue with the viewer. The Child, cradled in her arms, clings to her with a spontaneous gesture, while the body, carefully anatomically modeled, reveals a notable attention to detail.

The wise use of light, rising from a dark, velvety background, recalls Renaissance and Baroque painting traditions, highlighting volumes and giving depth to the composition. The warm tones of the flesh harmonize with the cool shades of the mantle, creating a refined and evocative chromatic balance.

The rendering of the fabrics, soft and realistic, and the precision of the details — from the expressive hands to the folds of the drapery — attest to a solid and mature painting technique. The work thus unites classicity and contemporary sensibility, making it perfect for both sacred art collectors and anyone seeking a piece with strong emotional and visual impact.

My training stems from a path deeply rooted in the study of art: after high school, I pursued a degree in painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Torino. Here I developed a solid technical foundation and a sensitivity oriented toward the classical painting tradition, with a particular affinity for the Caravaggesque language, characterized by intense light, deep contrasts, and strong emotional charge.

In the following years I moved to Bologna, where I also approached photography, widening my view and my way of observing reality. Nevertheless, painting has always remained my expressive center: I continued to paint in a constant and personal way, outside traditional exhibition circuits, pursuing an intimate and coherent research.

Each of my works originates from a slow and conscious process, where technique and feeling coexist. I do not produce in series, but build each piece as a unique work, designed to endure over time and to establish a silent dialogue with those who observe it.
