With this square-format artwork, Medsan takes us on a bold, textured mashup, merging the geometric abstraction of the Dutch master Piet Mondrian with history’s most iconic sneaker: the legendary Nike Air Jordan 1. This unique print transposes the rigorous aesthetic of the De Stijl movement onto a cult streetwear object, blurring the boundaries between classical modern art and the frenzy of sneaker culture.

The visual power of the composition lies in its rough painting treatment, reminiscent of the generous impasto of traditional oil painting. The sneaker, faithfully reproduced with its famous Swoosh, its rising silhouette and its iconic winged logo “AIR JORDAN,” blends into Mondrian’s orthogonal grid. Its multicolored panels — deep blue, bright red and solar yellow on a white background — directly dialogue with the flat primaries of the background, delineated by the painter’s thick black lines, giving the shoe a striking volume.
