Description from the seller

Pair of glass mercury-silvered candlesticks from circa 1875 France.

This antique pair of candlesticks (dating from the period between Napoleon III and Art Nouveau) is made of verre églomisé, meaning that a thin layer of silver is applied beneath the glass.
They were traditionally placed on the mantelpiece next to a religious statue under a glass dome.

The candlesticks are in good used condition, with only the silver at the candle openings worn.
