Artist Medsan presents McShogun (マック将軍) – UNIQUE WORK, a 40 × 40 cm giclée signed by hand, created in 2026 in France, edition 1/1, in excellent condition, featuring Culture Pop imagery in a Pop Art style.
Description from the seller
THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1
With this square-format work, Medsan signs a pop mashup deliciously offbeat, pitting the martial figure of the samurai against one of the most universal icons of consumer society: the McDonald's ordering kiosk. The proud warrior, strapped into his red-gloss armor and topped with his kabuto, hesitates, purse in hand and ticket already printed, facing the touchscreen. This clash of eras — the golden age of feudal Japan colliding with the modernity of globally marketed fast food — immediately establishes an irresistible humor. This unique print bears his signature “将軍 メドサン” (Shogun Medsan) embedded directly in the image.
The visual force of the composition lies in its purely graphic language: flat blocks of bold colors, pronounced black outlines and a bright yellow background punctuated by stylized red and blue clouds, borrowed from the vocabulary of Japanese ukiyo-e prints. This treatment fully embraces the heritage of Pop Art as seen in Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, which elevates the consumer object to the rank of icon, interwoven with the aesthetics of retro Showa-era posters.
The impact of the work rests on its second-degree meaning: by placing an timeless hero before the tender absurdity of contemporary daily life, Medsan offers a playful wink on the great gap between tradition and globalization. Anachronism becomes commentary, in the grand pop tradition that blends irony, popular culture, and mass iconography.
A fun, graphic piece that is firmly offbeat, ideal for adding a colorful, pop, and witty touch to a contemporary interior — a treat for lovers of Japanese culture as well as nods to pop culture.

About the Atelier:
Atelier Joconde is a workshop of artists gathered around living, plural contemporary creation. Established as a true production space for art, the workshop operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a figurative contemporary painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive search, blending abstract art, outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
