Description from the seller
Black and gold McCaviar cone with a black and white straw in a display frame for a wall presentation by XTC.
Subversion of the McDonald’s cone, turned into pills to represent addiction.
This is not a McDonald's cardboard cone; it was created from plastic materials and painted by XTC.
The frame is part of the artwork. It comes with a plastic display pane; you can present it with or without, as in the first and second photos.
Signed and numbered out of 20 on the back, Certificate of Authenticity (COA) provided.
(The shipped piece is not necessarily the one pictured.)
Careful and tracked shipment.
Born in 1978 in the heart of France, XTC shaped his artistic universe through an interest in Design, Pop Art, and more recently Street Art. This visual exploration grew into a passion that was to be realized.
XTC defines himself as a self-taught visual artist, aligning with the Pop Art movement, through the subversion of contemporary consumer goods.
His creativity is expressed through bold staging of icons of popular consumption (such as McDonald’s, Malabar, Chupa), which he makes collide with the world of luxury (including Chanel, Hermès, Veuve Clicquot champagne, and caviar) and Street Art, further blurring the already tenuous boundaries between these worlds.
He expresses his art through sculpture, mixing painting with all kinds of resins, plastics, and sometimes mineral substances.
He draws inspiration, among others, from Banksy, Keith Haring, Orlinski, Andy Warhol, Obey, as well as advertising and addictions in general.
All potential defects or imperfections are an integral part of the work.
