An owl in medieval alchemist robes, surrounded by the tools of the trade — astrolabes, manuscripts, glass retorts catching the candlelight. The bird's natural gravity and those enormous eyes make the casting choice feel inevitable. Deep interior setting, warm candlelight against cold stone, the visual vocabulary of Northern European medieval painting applied to a subject who would have made an excellent alchemist. Earthy ochres, deep umber, flashes of gold.
An original giclee print, conceived and created by Arno Klein, published by Noble Press. Inks: Archival pigment inks, rated for 100+ years of colour stability under normal display conditions.
