Description from the seller
Andrea Garzón. Emerging plastic artist, self-taught with specialized training in modern and contemporary art. Her work explores portraiture from an expressionist, figurative perspective, with an intense color palette and influences from abstract realism.
"After Olympus" (2026). Oil Painting. Original unique work.
This work presents a contemporary interpretation of a classical sculptural figure, depicted in a vibrant palette of intense greens on a deep cobalt blue background. The figure, with a serene and thoughtful expression, rests a hand on the chin in a gesture of reflection, evoking the Greco-Roman sculpture tradition reinterpreted with a modern and expressive aesthetic.
The oil technique is evident in the visible brushstrokes and the rich surface texture, which bring vitality and movement to the composition. The contrast between the luminous green of the figure and the intense blue of the background creates a powerful visual tension and a strong presence.
A piece that blends classical artistic heritage with an up-to-date chromatic sensibility.
Canvas dimensions: 40 × 50 cm (height × width), unframed.
The work is signed with paint in the lower left corner of the canvas.
Condition: excellent. Recent work, completed in 2026.
Provenance: work sold directly by the artist. First owner.
Documentation: an authenticity certificate signed by the artist will be included.
Shipping: the work will be sent on stretcher, with appropriate protective packaging to ensure its arrival in perfect condition.
