Oil on canvas measuring 46 x 55 cm and signed bottom right Louis Audibert.
Louis Marie Barnabé Audibert, born in Marseille on June 11, 1880, the city where he died on March 20, 1983, is a French painter.
After World War I, he allied with Louis-Mathieu Verdilhan and worked with him in Cassis. He became Winston Churchill's teacher. He is connected with numerous artists such as Albert Marquet, Moïse Kisling, Marcel Leprin, etc. He had his first exhibition in 1920 and founded the Union of Plastic Arts in 1948.
His workshop is located at No. 30 on cours d'Estienne d'Orves in Marseille.
He died on March 20, 1983 in Marseille.
It depicts a alley of a Provencal village with its bell tower.
Note two small restorations on the back (see photos)
