Description from the seller
This very old straight Pasopati keris with Blarak Sineret pamor from Java.
This very old blade is forged with a splendid example of the rare pamor motif Blarak Sineret. The shape of the pamor motif Blarak Sineret resembles a split coconut leaf (in Java it is called blarak), complete with the midrib. This pamor motif possesses spiritual powers that bring luck, strengthen the authority and leadership qualities of the keris owner, and increase his popularity both privately and commercially. This pamor motif is very difficult to forge, which makes its value much higher than that of other pamor motifs.
The blade is forged according to the iconic Pasopati dhapur, characterized by its straight, elegant form and distinctive features such as the sogokan and tikel alis. In Javanese tradition, the Pasopati dhapur is legendary, named after Arjuna’s arrow. It is considered a keris that symbolizes leadership.
A Nunggak semi grip mounted on a brass kendit mendok crowns the top of the keris. The keris resides in a Solo Gayaman sheath of black wood.
