Description from the seller
Automatic Pirelli PZero Chronograph – Valjoux 7750 Caliber – Titanium and steel
For sale an iconic example that fuses Italian industrial design with Swiss mechanical excellence: the Pirelli PZero chronograph. Not a simple "watch from a tire brand," but a cutting-edge engineering project that marked an era in early 2000s sports design.
The Pirelli watch project began in the early 2000s (around 2002/2003) within the “Pirelli Corso Venezia” project. The idea was to transfer the know-how of high-performance materials (tires) into a luxury lifestyle.
Curiosity: The strap is not just rubber, but made with compounds and textures that directly recall the tread of the famous PZero tires.
Design: The case was designed to be ergonomic and aerodynamic, using a mix of Titanium (for lightness) and Steel (for robustness), fundamental materials in the world of racing.
Technical Analysis and Caliber
Movement: It is the legendary ETA Valjoux 7750. It is the quintessential automatic Swiss chronograph caliber, used by brands like IWC, Tudor, and Breitling. It is famous for its “tractor” reliability and for the typical rotor vibration feeling at the wrist during winding. The watch operates excellently in all its functions.
Measurements: 40 mm case, a perfect size that makes it modern but not excessive, suitable even for medium-sized wrists.
Strap: Original Pirelli with deployment clasp, suitable for wrists up to 19 cm. This specific version is presented in its most iconic and sporty configuration: the original yellow Pirelli strap. This color not only evokes the brand’s competition Soft compounds from Milan, but creates an outstanding chromatic contrast with the titanium case and the black dial. It is the most desirable setup. Note: the original Pirelli strap like this has the feature of being sized by cutting near the clasp. This means the strap has been adapted to 19 cm wrists and if the buyer has a larger wrist they will need to purchase a new strap, while if it is smaller the strap can be shortened.
This specific model dates from the 2005-2010 period.
