MUMA - Cristales 01 (XL)

The series "Crystals" presents itself as a territory of tension between transparency and superposition, between the visible and what remains suspended. The geometric shapes, seemingly precise and rational, stop being closed structures to become permeable bodies, traversed by light, color, and gaze. Here there is no cold or normative geometry; each pane seems to shift, float, or dematerialize in a space that never fully stabilizes.

The crystal functions as a philosophical metaphor of contemporary perception: an element capable of reflecting, refracting, and fragmenting reality simultaneously. The translucent layers produce unexpected chromatic encounters, generating new forms that do not exist by themselves, but in relation to others. The work is thus built from the idea that every identity is relational and mutable, never fixed or absolute. Each color alters the other; each plane changes the reading of space. What we see always depends on the position from which we look.

The intensely blue background operates as an expansive, almost immaterial dimension on which the figures seem suspended in a state of unstable balance. Emptiness does not act as absence, but as a field of possibility. In this sense, the painting dialogues with a phenomenological conception of space: the image does not represent an object, but a perceptual experience in constant transformation.

The transparencies also introduce a reflection on time. The forms do not appear as definitive moments, but as traces, displacements, or memories of motion. The superimposition of planes recalls that all human experience is composed of accumulative strata: memories, emotions, perceptions, and relationships that cross each other without entirely disappearing.

In Crystals, geometry ceases to be solely a language of order and becomes a sensitive structure. The work proposes slow contemplation, where the gaze discovers that reality is not compact or stable, but fragile, changing, and traversed by multiple transparencies. Each intersection reveals that every truth always contains other latent possibilities.

About MUMA:

MUMA is an artistic duo formed by a 3D Generalist and Designer and an Art Historian, both trained at CEU San Pablo University in Madrid. Their artistic practice focuses on the visual arts, with particular interest in color, movement, and the dynamism of forms, as well as in environmental variations. Their work is conceived to integrate into space and establish a direct dialogue with routine and human experience, exploring a vital vision linked to the ideals of impressionism, such as the relationship with nature, color, and changing environments. MUMA is connected to the professional world of digital and plastic arts in Madrid, with participation in competitions.

About preparation, packaging, and shipping of the artwork:

The work is hand-signed by the artistic duo and also comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by them. The canvas, rolled, is carefully packed in a sturdy cardboard tube and will be shipped within three business days after purchase confirmation. The estimated delivery time will depend on the destination and the chosen shipping company.
