Stillleben, a hand-signed oil painting by Austrian artist Emilie von Trautmann (1846-1906) from the 18th century, depicting plants and flowers, sold with its frame.
Description from the seller
I am selling here an inherited painting of a bouquet by the Austrian artist Emilie von Trautmann (1846-1906).
I received it in the frame that is visible in the pictures; it was fastened to the frame with clamps. The painting itself was nailed into its own frame (also visible in the pictures). I cannot say whether this was done by the artist herself or by someone else. The painting itself can be removed from the frame. It is a hand-signed oil painting with the dimensions given above (H: approx. 29.8 cm x W: approx. 24 cm x D: approx. 1.7 cm), in a frame with outer dimensions H: approx. 40.2 cm x W: approx. 34.3 cm x D: approx. 1.5 cm. The painting itself protrudes slightly backward, as can be seen in the pictures.
Attached there is no certificate or similar; I do not know from whom it was bought or resold.
The surface of the painting is still in good condition for its age, but there are some cracks in the paint (visible in the pictures) that could be restored.
