Cor Schaap (1968) - Strandgezicht

Cor Schaap (born 1968) is a painter, born and raised in the Dutch fishing village Katwijk aan Zee. Not far from the sea he works on his oil paintings, in which local and regional subjects are central. His work arises both in the studio and in plein air and depicts scenes from the present and the past.

Schaap's oeuvre consists of sunny, characterful beach scenes – each time different and unique – and powerful seascapes in which he has increasingly specialized in recent years. These maritime works now also enjoy international attention. These paintings are sold through renowned galleries, including Galerie Gabriëls on Noordeinde in The Hague (since 1974).
