Description from the seller

A beautiful sculpture depicting a Rococo courtly couple dancing in rustic attire. A high-quality German piece from the late 19th century in excellent condition with no damage. Unlike most Volkstedt figures of this period, this sculpture, in addition to the maker’s mark on the base, is signed by the French sculptor and modeller, most likely August Dufour (1880–1920), whose name occasionally appears moulded into decorative figures. In many French and German porcelain pieces of the period, the modeller’s name was engraved on the mould, exactly as appears to be the case with this piece. ‘Dufour’ may be the name of the French sculptor-modeller responsible for the original design, which was subsequently reproduced by a porcelain manufacturer. This was a common practice in France and Germany. Please see the photos. Height: 18 cm.

This lot will be carefully packed and sent by registered mail with a tracking number.

I do not sell to the U.S.A. and Canada.
