Art Nouveau still life with flowers was created in the early 20th century by the listed Czech painter Frantisek X. Diblik (b. 1887). He studied at the Prague Academy under H. Schwaigra and undertook a study trip to Italy. From 1925 Diblik frequently exhibited in Prague.
The artist is listed in: Dr. Prokop Toman, Dictionary of Czech Painters, Prague, 1947.
Inscription: signed F.X. Diblik and dated 1916, lower right.
Technique: oil on canvas. Original period frame.
Measurements: unframed w 19 2/3" x h 19 2/3" (50 x 50 cm), framed w 21 1/4" x h 21 1/4" (54 x 54 cm)
