Contemporary full leather binding with rich gold tooling on the spine (a few pinholes); interior in order; on the title page, an armillary sphere with surrounding some notes historically handwritten. An assemblage of curious anecdotes, thoughts, judgments, etc., arranged in alphabetical order by the bishop, great almoner of France, Jacques Du Perron Davy (1556-1618) and by the scholar Jacques Auguste de Thou (1553-1617).
