Collector's item: one of the founders of the CoBrA period: Constant (Constant Anton Nieuwenhuys). Constant (1920-2005) was a Dutch visual artist, author, musician. He lived and worked in Amsterdam. In 1948 he founded the Experimental Group Holland, together with among others Karel Appel, Corneille, Jan Nieuwenhuijs, Eugene Brands. A few years later Constant was involved in the founding of the CoBrA group. In 1950 he settled in Paris, but he soon returned to Amsterdam. This original work dates from 1961. It is a pastel/drawing/gouache on paper. It is in particularly perfect condition. Framed by the artist himself. Provenance known and supplied with certificate of authenticity.
