Splendid hand-painted service for 6 people crafted by master artisans of Deruta.
The abundance of clay deposits and the favorable position along major land and river routes favored the development of ceramic production in Deruta dating back to the Middle Ages. With an uninterrupted continuity of at least seven centuries, Deruta is still today the center of the largest production of artistic maiolica in Italy. In this great ceramic cradle, there are countless artisan workshops, kilns where new clays were developed and tested, new techniques experimented with, new shapes conceived, new glazes and new varnishes tried, new colors used and new decorations painted.
The set consists of 6 flat plates with a diameter of 15.5 cm, ideal for bread.
Objects of great refinement and elegance. Very rare, painted and completely hand-formed.
