Description from the seller
Opera in 3 volumes: La Nuova Italia. Administrative, statistical, industrial, and commercial dictionary of the Municipalities of the Kingdom and of the main towns of Italy beyond the border and colonies, edited by Doctor Francesco Vallardi, Milan.
Illustrated copy with numerous figures and plates in black and in color, dedicated to the municipalities, landscapes, monuments and the natural and artistic beauties of Italy. The volumes are divided alphabetically:
Vol. I: A–E — 6 unnumbered pp. + XII prefatory pages + 912 numbered pages
Vol. II: F–Q — 7 unnumbered pp. + 994 numbered pages
Vol. III: R–Z and appendix — 6 unnumbered pp. + 847 numbered pages
Decorative editorial bindings, with brown spines stamped in gold, ornamental borders and tricolor bands. Signs of use present, abrasions to the boards and spines, small losses and scattered foxing on the pages, but overall the volumes are solid and well preserved. Date not clearly indicated on the title page; a handwritten note says 1909, thus attributable approximately to the early years of the twentieth century.
