Description from the seller
三山 Sanzan Japanese tea ceremony utensil / 'Dandelion' Chago Bamboo Tea Scoop
茶合 Chago (Tea Scoop)
This is one of the tea utensils used to measure the quantity of tea leaves. It is used to remove the tea leaves from the tea caddy and transfer them to the teapot.
The chago by Sanzan is shaped from a smooth, lightly burnished bamboo segment, its surface carrying a neatly carved dandelion whose rounded seed head and slender leaves follow the natural curve of the grain; the vertical inscription sits with quiet balance beside the motif, and the gentle hollow of the scoop makes it well suited for lifting tea leaves from the caddy to the pot, giving this small utensil a blend of practical ease and understated seasonal charm.
Dimensions: 1.3" x 4.2" x 0.5" / 3.5cm x 10.8cm x 1.5cm
Material: Bamboo
Weight: 20g
