Description from the seller
“Umbral”
In this work I build a system of superimposed planes where color acts as a field of emotional tension. The dominant red is not just a background, but an enveloping atmosphere that activates the entire surface and places the viewer in a state of perceptual alertness. I divide the space into bands that function as reading layers: at the bottom, a linear blue mesh describes synthetic vegetation, almost coded, which alludes to that “garden” that in my work symbolizes the mutable and the lived. In the center, the matter becomes denser and more painterly, with overlapping gestures that suggest accumulation, memory, and time. Above all this, I drop vertical lines that traverse the composition, as if the space were being filtered or pierced by a rain of information.
The upper plane, more contained and luminous, presents itself as a suspended space, a place of transition where form dissolves and the image becomes almost intangible. It is here where I place the concept of “threshold”: an unstable boundary between the structural and the organic, between what is contained and what expands. In this piece, the “house” — understood as a solid identity — is fragmented into layers, while the “garden” emerges from below as a force that insists on occupying everything. My intention is not to represent, but to provoke that sense of passage, of crossing, where the viewer stands exactly at that limit where something ceases to be in order to begin to transform.
