Description from the seller
LASVEGUIX - Magritte Urbain
Mixed media on torn and recomposed posters, hand-signed, Certificate provided
Unique work 40*30 (framed 41*31) contemporary black frame if reserve price reached
Signed Lasveguix, this torn poster embodies the very essence of contemporary urban art: raw, fragmented, alive.
At the center, an iconic feminine figure inspired by the engaged visual universe of the OBEY movement, immediately recognizable, almost hypnotic. But here, nothing is smooth. The image is deliberately mishandled, torn, recomposed. Layers of torn posters disrupt reading, creating a play of textures and striking contrasts.
The intense red dialogues with cooler areas and black graffiti traces, bringing tension and energy. The whole floats on a deep black background that isolates and magnifies the composition.
This is a work that lives, that breathes, that tells a story.
It all begins on a wall.
A wall like thousands of others. Covered with images, messages, faces.
Then time does its work.
The posters overlap, tear, fade away.
What was visible becomes fragment. What was a message becomes a trace.
Where others pass by without seeing, Lasveguix stops.
He takes this piece of urban chaos, freezes it, reveals it.
And at the heart of this raw material appears a face — almost intact, almost sacred — like an icon surviving amid the tumult.
This work is a capture.
A moment when the street becomes memory.
Where destruction becomes beauty.
Why acquire this work?
- Unique work: no reproduction, certified original piece
- Strong aesthetics: immediate visual impact, perfect for a contemporary interior
- Cultural reference: powerful dialogue with the OBEY graphic universe
- Authentic material work: posters actually torn and recomposed
- Art in the making: emerging artist with potential for valorization
Framing OFFERED if the reserve price is reached
Lasveguix asserts himself as a rising signature of contemporary urban art. His field of expression: the street, or rather what it leaves behind.
Through the recovery of torn posters, he constructs a work at the boundary between destruction and creation.
Influenced by the codes of street art, collage and subversive imagery, he distorts symbols to give them a new reading. Each piece is unique, marked by chance, time and the artist’s intervention.
