Rare two-volume complete set of Tropical Medicine by Marcel Vaucel, General Inspector of the Pasteur Institutes Overseas, published by Éditions Médicales Flammarion in the prestigious Collection Médico-Chirurgicale with Annual Revision, under the direction of Pasteur Vallery-Radot and Jean Hamburger.
Interest of the work: Reference treatise of French colonial medicine, written in collaboration with the great names of the Pasteur Institutes Overseas (Hanoi, Dakar, Tananarive, Brazzaville) and colonel-doctors of the Colonial Troops. Covers the full range of tropical diseases: filariasis, malaria, pian (yaws), schistosomiases, myiases, diseases caused by protozoa, etc.
Notable features:
- Original removable metal-ring binding allowing insertion of update sheets — system intact and functional
- Numerous plates including color plates of Plasmodium, Institut Pasteur photographs, clinical photographs
- Successive updates inserted covering the period 1952–1970

Condition: Good overall condition. Original burgundy cloth bindings showing slight uniform fading. Solid spines. Pages browned in keeping with age, without annotations or noted stamps. Tome 2 shows moisture marks on the covers that do not affect the interior.
