Description from the seller

An exquisite and traditional Japanese Shino ware matcha tea bowl (Chawan), crafted by the master artisan Nanpō (also read as Kusumine) at the renowned Take-toku Kiln in Mino province (modern-day Gifu Prefecture).

This piece beautifully exemplifies the classic characteristics of high-quality Mino Shino-yaki, blending a rustic spirit with a refined, elegant presence suitable for formal tea ceremonies (Chanoyu) or dedicated art collectors.

Artistic Details & Design
Glaze and Texture: The bowl features the signature thick, milky-white felspathic Shino glaze (Shino-yu), complete with a beautifully texturized, dimpled surface mimicking "pinholes" (yuzu-hada or yuzu skin).

Aesthetic & Color: Beneath the soft, cloudy white glaze, subtle, warm underglaze iron tones peek through, creating a serene, natural landscape (keshiki) on the surface.

Form & Bottom: The bowl boasts a well-proportioned, sturdy form that sits comfortably in the hands. The unglazed foot (kodai) reveals the coarse, light-colored Mino clay and features the distinct, stamped artist's mark (maker's mark).

Condition
Excellent Condition: Well-preserved with no cracks, chips, hairlines, or previous repairs. Truly a beautiful, collector-grade piece. Please refer to the high-resolution images for a detailed look at the condition.

Box & Inclusions
Comes with its original, matching wooden storage box (Tomobako).

The lid is hand-signed and stamped with the artist’s calligraphy (Kusumine/Nanpō ) and kiln name, authenticating the piece.

NOITICE:

The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post.
It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally.
