A true cornerstone of British angling excellence: the Hardy 'L.R.H. Lightweight' Fly Reel, precision handcrafted by Hardy Bros Ltd in Alnwick, England. Named after Lawrence Robert Hardy, this is arguably the most versatile and iconic model in the entire legendary Lightweight family.
Featuring the timeless dark finish, an ultra-smooth classic click-check system, and a robust yet lightweight build, this reel is highly coveted by both vintage tackle collectors and purist fly anglers worldwide.
Condition:
The Reel (Cosmetic & Mechanical): Exceptional, Near Mint condition. The rim and faceplate are remarkably clean with minimal signs of use, as shown in the detailed photos. It features a vintage dealer/line sticker from Orvis stating "DT6F 8 1/2' rod". Mechanically 100% operational: the drag adjusts perfectly and the classic Hardy clicker sings beautifully. It comes fully loaded with a fly line, backing, and an authentic classic fly tucked into the guard.
The Manual: Includes the rare, original paper booklet "A Quality Fly Reel by HARDY - The World's Finest Fishing Tackle" in very crisp, well-preserved condition.
The Pouch: Paired with its original blue and beige padded zipper case. The zipper functions smoothly. Note for transparency: As is consistent with this private collection, the beige vinyl trim bears faint vintage initials ('AFA') written in ink from a previous owner.
