Description from the seller

For auction is a fascinating, traditional dagger – a straight Keris (Kris Lurus) from Java, Indonesia. An honest collector's and restoration item in untouched, authentic condition with great historical appeal and beautiful patina.

Blade: Traditional straight design (Keris Lurus) with a dark, characterful age patina. The blade is tightly attached to the hilt.

Hilt (Ukiran): Typically Javanese wooden hilt with fine, stylized carvings (Kala motifs).

Scabbard: The upper kidney-shaped cross piece (Warangka) is carved from a solid block of fine hardwood in the traditional Gayaman style. The lower scabbard is covered with an original decorated brass sleeve (Pendok), featuring a fine, embossed floral and diamond pattern on the front.

Dimensions:
Total length of dagger: approx. 47 cm
Pure blade length: approx. 42 cm
Total length of scabbard: approx. 45 cm

Detailed Condition and Defects (Please note carefully):
The piece is offered in honest, unparsed, and unrestored condition with clear signs of age:
Blade: Features a heavy, deep age patina and historical rust in the area of the blade base (Ganja) and the encrusted ring (Mendak). No fresh chips.

Hilt: Firmly attached but shows a visible, vertical hairline crack on the inner side (see detailed photo).
Wooden Cross Piece (Warangka): Due to dryness, the historical glue joint to the lower scabbard has dissolved (parts are loose). The solid wooden piece also features a distinct, deep age- and dryness-related vertical crack running straight down from the blade inlet. There are minimal white paint specks on the top from a previous wall mounting.

Brass Sleeve (Pendok): The thin metal sleeve shows significant age-related defects. In the lower section, there is a large, centimeter-long material tear/break where the metal is missing and the wood is exposed. Another hole is located right at the very tip of the scabbard.
