The works of the painting cycle “Donna” are a scenic and symbolic representation of the woman, seen both through the eyes of an artist and through those of a man.
With these paintings one aims to represent the woman beyond society’s stereotypes: her essence, her humanity, her fragility, and, at the same time, her strength.
The choice of color, in its monochromatic, slightly sepia-toned quality, is intended to convey a sense of mystery, experience, and/or memory.
The veil that envelops the woman has multiple meanings: the part that gently enfolds her body is pink, almost merging with her own skin; while the remaining part of it aims to represent, through its tension, the influence of the social stereotype of a strong, emancipated, beautiful, and slim woman.
The title of the work seeks to aid the understanding of it by using adjectives or nouns linked to its intention to humanize it and to grasp its essence.
