A large rectangular 925 sterling silver Niello box with gilt interior and polished redwood lining, 15.5 × 9.8 × 6 cm and weighing 377 g, made in Siam (Thailand) circa 1920–1930, with a hinged cover showing a Wat Arun scene and Thai deities, in excellent condition.

The hinged cover finely ornate with an original scenic depiction of Wat Arun Temple in Bangkok and - on all sides - with stylised leaves and Thai deities on polished ground.
This particular box is an exceptional example of Thai niello work, such pieces were only made for the Royal House.
