Luca Domiro (b. 1979) is a South African-born trained artist of Italian heritage whose work explores renewal, movement, cultural identity, and our emotional connection to nature. Drawing inspiration from his African roots, European heritage, travel experiences, and personal memories, he creates paintings that celebrate colour, energy, and the universal human desire for connection and belonging.
Working across abstract landscapes and figurative subjects, Luca creates layered compositions rich in texture, atmosphere, and movement. His expressive use of colour reflects both the vibrancy of African landscapes and the warmth of Mediterranean influences, resulting in works that feel deeply personal yet universally relatable.
Early international travel with the Drakensberg Boys' Choir exposed him to diverse cultures, landscapes, and artistic traditions, fostering a lifelong fascination with how colour, light, and place shape our emotions and memories. These experiences continue to inform his distinctive visual language today.
After more than twenty years in the corporate world, Luca returned fully to painting with a renewed creative purpose. Guided by intuition and authenticity, his work seeks to evoke joy, reflection, and emotional resonance, inviting viewers to reconnect with their own stories, heritage, and sense of place.
His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in private collections across the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, and Canada.
