Stoneware celadon sake cup by Takuji Haraguchi (Japan), in excellent condition with a crackled pale blue celadon glaze on an unglazed foot, 5 cm high and 7 cm wide, dating to 1980–1990 and 1990–2000, supplied with its original signed wooden box (tomobako).

A serene sake cup glazed in soft funsei celadon, with a delicate crackled surface that glows pale blue against a warm, unglazed clay foot. The contrast of refined glaze and earthy base gives this small vessel a quiet, contemplative presence in the hand. It comes with its original signed wooden box (tomobako).

Takuji Haraguchi is a Japanese ceramic artist born in Kyoto, trained at the Kyoto Prefectural Ceramics Training School. He is known for celadon work modelled on the Southern Song imperial kilns, characterised by clear, calm blue glaze tones and refined, precise forms. His work has been shown not only in Japan but also in solo exhibitions in New York and Washington in the United States.
