Kettle - Iron

A Japanese cast iron tetsubin / iron kettle, decorated with raised landscape relief and Japanese inscription on the body. The kettle has a traditional rounded form, fixed iron handle, curved spout and fitted lid with a contrasting metal knob.

The surface shows a deep aged patina with natural oxidation, wear and texture, giving the piece a strong antique decorative appearance. The body is further decorated with landscape scenery and inscriptions, making it suitable as a Japanese tea object, collector’s display piece or decorative Asian art object.

Condition: Fair to good condition with visible signs of age and handling. Surface rust, oxidation, patina variation, scratches, small marks, wear to the handle and spout, and age-related imperfections are present. The interior shows oxidation and age-related wear. The kettle has not been tested for water-tightness or practical use and is sold as a decorative collectible object.
