Description from the seller

Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy violin with Thomastik DYNAMO strings included for sale.

Violin has been joyfully played for over 15 years, it’s now for sale because I switched to a 7/8.

Brand: Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy (J.T.L.)

Type of instrument/accessories: Acoustic Violin (includes chinrest, bridge, and a fine-tuner tailpiece)

Where it is made (country): France (Mirecourt)
Model No. 6 (clearly stamped alongside the signature JTL star hallmark)

Colour: Rich reddish-brown varnish

Type of wood body/neck: Solid spruce top with a gorgeously flamed maple back, ribs, and neck.

The fingerboard, pegs, and chinrest are crafted from ebony.

Type of tuners: Traditional ebony friction pegs at the scroll, complemented by four fine tuners on the tailpiece.

Total Length: 60 cm

Length of Body (LOB): 36.3 cm

Upper Bout Width: 17 cm

Middle Bout Width: 11.5 cm

Lower Bout Width: 21 cm

Type of pickups: N/A (Fully acoustic)

Type of neck joint: Set-in

Whether parts have been replaced: The strings, bridge, and the tailpiece with built-in fine tuners appear to be modern functional replacements, which is wonderful for keeping the instrument fully playable!

Whether there is any damage: The instrument is structurally very solid with no open cracks or seam separations. However, please note there are deep, intentional scratches (resembling knife or tool marks) running vertically down the center of the top plate beneath the strings, caused by a previous owner. Fortunately, this damage is strictly cosmetic and does not impact the structural integrity of this historic instrument.

Whether repairs are needed: It‘s fully set up, strung, and ready to play immediately.

Shipping method: Secure, fully insured international courier.
