Description from the seller

Lionel Nemeth is a Belgian contemporary artist specializing in figurative string art. His work is defined by a unique approach: the image is never drawn, it emerges entirely through the tension and density of the thread.

Shelter explores the instinctive need for protection and retreat. Built through thousands of thread intersections, the figure appears to fold into itself, suspended between vulnerability and resilience. The gesture becomes both refuge and barrier, inviting the viewer to reflect on the ways we shield what remains fragile within us.

The image gradually reveals itself from a seemingly chaotic network of lines, offering an immersive visual experience that transforms with distance and perspective.

More than 30 hours of meticulous manual work were required to complete this piece.

Entirely handmade, signed on the back and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Absolute unique piece — never reproduced.

Technical details

• String art, fully handmade
• Approx. 6,000 thread passes between 280 brass nails
• MDF panel
