Indonesian teak Kris drager Totog, a Buto-style wayang figure from Bali dating to the early 20th century, 47 cm high, 19 cm wide, 18 cm deep, weighing 2.6 kg, in reasonably good condition with authentic/original status, provenance Galeriehouder / Antiekhandelaar, sold without a stand and without the depicted keris.
Description from the seller
Polychrome painted keris bearer Totog, from Bali, Indonesia. This Totog (wayang karaktatuur) is in good condition, the figure shows hardly any cracks and the color is somewhat stained and discolored due to its age, which does not disturb or detract from this colorful figure. The patina of the old paint is truly very beautiful and thus gives an extra dimension to this figure. The depicted keris is not included in this lot and is added only for illustration. The tilam upih keris is for sale in this same auction!
