Not all information remains intact. Some parts disappear, others transform into traces.
In this work, the body appears fragmented and reduced to a detail, moving away from the traditional representation of the portrait to approach a more sensory and abstract reading of human presence. The pixelated interventions do not function as concealment elements, but as visible marks of passage — fragments of memory, data or experiences that remain inscribed on the surface.
The tension between the soft realism of anatomy and the rigid geometry of pixels suggests the meeting of two universes: the physical and the digital. The body becomes an archive, carrying signs of everything that shapes it, even when its origin is no longer fully recognizable.
“Trace” explores the idea of permanence through absence. Like a footprint, a scar, or a distant echo, the traces present in the work point to something that existed, happened, or was felt. The observer is invited to fill in the missing spaces and to reflect on the marks — visible and invisible — that remain after the experience.
