Description from the seller
Vintage 925 Sterling Silver Bookmark / Letter Opener – Made in Italy (Arezzo), 16.3g
Description:
I am selling a rare and particularly elegant piece of vintage stationery, with dual functionality: clip-type bookmark and mini-knife for opening letters (letter opener). It is a refined collector's item, ideal for reading enthusiasts, antiques or for a memorable gift.
The design is Art Nouveau-inspired, with the handle masterfully crafted in the shape of a flower modeled in prominent three-dimensional relief. The petals and pistil stand out clearly, offering a spectacular play of light and shadow due to the patina of time.
Technical details and authenticity:
Material: Solid Sterling Silver with the title 925 (superior purity of 92.5%).
Weight: 16.3 grams (measured on a precision digital scale).
Clear original markings: Features the oval stamp "925", the area code "AS" (Arezzo, Tuscany) and the registered workshop mark "ZR".
Mechanism and operation: The central blade has a fine cutout that functions as a flexible clip. As can be seen in the images, it slides easily over the edge of the sheet to grip and protect the pages of the book without bending them.
Condition: Very good, structurally, with a superb natural patina in the recesses that highlights the embossed floral pattern
