Rosary - nacre - 1910-1920

Old Art Deco rosary in mother-of-pearl and gilded metal, circa 1925.

This delicate rosary is composed of oval mother-of-pearl beads mounted on a chain of gilded metal. It is adorned with a center depicting the Virgin Mary in relief.

The terminal cross, of generous size, is entirely hand-sculpted in mother-of-pearl. Its geometric and stylized decoration is characteristic of the Art Deco period. The natural iridescent reflections of the nacre highlight the quality of the sculpture.
