Piccone is indeed cited together with prominent figures such as, among others, Fillia and Lucio Fontana in the list of collaborators of Tullio d'Albisola in the (…).
Already in 1934, moreover, the artist had participated in the exhibition Les Aeropeintres futuristes italiens, inaugurated on May 30 at the Hotel Negresco in Nice.
The Boxeur shows how Piccone embraced with conviction the concepts of the Futurist avant-garde and, in particular, those cited in the Ceramics Manifesto.
This pair of maiolicas transformed into lamps, one of which, after being seen, was repaired with the Japanese technique called Kintsugi, i.e., Golden Scars. A note of merit to be made.
