Splendid Native Canadian Inuit art sculpture depicting a seal lying on its side, characterized by soft, sinuous lines typical of Arctic aesthetics. Artist: Signed by the artist Nowdla (inscribed on the placard and presumably incised on the stone at the base of the work). Origin Community: Lake Harbour (now known as Kimmirut), Nunavut, Canada. Date of Realization: October 1983. Material: Indigenous stone from the Arctic region (serpentine or hard chlorite), mirror-polished with a dark coloration and deep natural veining. Certificate of Authenticity: Includes the government of Canada historical placard 'Igloo Tag Trademark'. This international seal confirms the work was entirely handmade by an Inuit-origin artist. On the back is also visible the round stamp with the piece's inventory/identification number. Condition: Excellent vintage condition, with the natural sheen and the characteristic veins of the original stone.
