Description from the seller
Summer sun from the Derivas series
Unique work
In Derivas, Ella Suárez develops an inquiry into the landscape understood as an expanded field, where forms are not fixed but move, transform, and continually reconfigure.
The works are situated in an intermediate territory between the recognizable and the abstract. Through undulating structures and transitional planes, they evoke reliefs, horizons, and geographical features that do not belong to a specific place, but to an experience of a landscape in constant change.
The concept of an extended landscape runs through the series as a way of thinking the environment beyond its physical limits. Space dilates, the horizon disassembles, and depth is built through layers that fold, open, and overlap. In this context, the relief ceases to be stable and becomes a living matter, subject to processes of mutation.
Color acts as structure and energy. The ranges organize into transitions that generate tension and continuity, articulating a visual rhythm that suggests movement, atmosphere, and time. Each plane responds to an internal logic that balances density and fluidity, constructing a landscape that never presents itself as definitive.
In Derivas, the landscape stops being an image to become a process: a form of perception in which matter, color, and time meet in a state of permanent transformation.
Authenticity of the work:
Each piece is hand-signed on the back of the canvas, guaranteeing its authenticity and preserving the visual purity of the painted surface. The signature includes the title of the work, the year of realization, and Ella Suárez’s signature. The piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), which validates its origin and authorship.
Note:
Reference images may show slight tonal variations relative to the original work due to lighting in the spaces, which can affect contrast or color temperature, as well as differences between viewing devices. The photographs have been made with the greatest possible care.
Shipping details:
The work will be sent rolled in a protective tube, a method that ensures safe transport and offers a more economical and sustainable option. The canvas includes an additional 5 cm margin on each side to facilitate re-stretching, which can be done by the buyer or by a professional.
