Bitossi - Table service for 6 (13) - Ceramic

Splendid and rare 6-person dining set produced by Bitossi.

The set is made in Montelupo in ceramic, and is decorated with an ochre glaze and a thick surrounding garland.

It comprises:
6 bowls, one with a crack
6 small plates
1 oval tray

Born in 1911 in Montelupo Fiorentino, Aldo Londi led a life marked by art: he was a painter and sculptor, but above all a ceramist. For more than fifty years he collaborated with Bitossi, first as artistic director and then as a collaborator.

Ceramic expertise and artistic sensibility were his prerogatives. Added to his inclination for research, they allowed him to undertake bold explorations and to define a new expressive lexicon.

Excellent overall condition; one bowl has a crack.
