Description from the seller
Giove rebuked by Venus — Urban Intervention
Slasky, 2026
A work that collides two visual worlds: the 17th-century Flemish Baroque painting of Abraham Janssens and the contemporary language of tattooing and street culture.
On Jupiter’s body appear large Japanese-style tattoos — elaborate and symbolic — transforming divine authority into a surface marked by personal identity. The backdrop has been reimagined with urban graffiti: Olympus moves into the contemporary city. The work does not erase the original; it reactivates it.
A visually powerful piece, suitable for spaces with strong personality — studio, design lounge, urban/pop art collection.
Technique: Giclée on PhotoRag Hahnemühle 308 g/m²
Certificate of authenticity signed and numbered included
