Vintage Copper "All Holiday" Dresden Wreath – Petites Choses Style – circa 1980
A beautiful and very detailed vintage copper "All Holiday" wreath in the iconic Dresden style (attributed to the American Petites Choses).
This type of wreath was produced in the 80s using replicas of historical, finely detailed relief molds.
This "all-season" wreath is designed to hang year-round.
The dozens of hand-soldered copper figures represent different seasons and holidays.
In the design you will discover, among others, Christmas trees and sleighs for winter, turkeys for autumn, Easter bunnies for spring, and a rich collection of wildlife such as deer, owls, roosters, swans and even a crocodile.
On top the wreath is adorned with an elegant copper bow. Characteristic of these pieces is that they are crafted and handmade.
The wreath is therefore not equipped with a factory mark or stamp.
On the back there are the original, flexible metal wires.
These wires not only allow the figures to be given extra three-dimensional depth, but are historically intended to be woven through seasonal greenery (such as pine greens or dried flowers).
